Access to equitable opportunities in travel and tourism is one of our pillars, and we are intentional about leveraging our global network and relationships with key industry brands, organizations and events to ensure our DTA graduates are in the room and have a seat at the table to do business globally!
In 2022, we took six (6) small Black tour suppliers to IPW, the travel and tourism industry's global marketplace. IPW is an annual gathering of top industry players and for the first time in its 50+ years, a diverse group of small, Black and women-owned tour businesses had the opportunity to exhibit and meet with international buyers and press to sell their tour products globally. This is how we help create tangible, equitable opportunities and sustainability for our DTA minority suppliers.
Cheryl has been conducting walking tours of her community for years but did not know she could formalize her tours into a business. After DTA, she's now a new business owner and tour operator with Turner House Tours.
Carolyn has been operating her tour business, Tour of Possibilities, for several years but lacked access and exposure to the travel and tourism industry to grow her business. DTA changed that for her!
Bishop Neal has operated a multi-fleet transportation service for many years but did not know how to tap into travel and tourism as a new revenue source for his business.
